How do I register my domain name for free?
Simply sign up for any hosting plan for 12 months and you will qualify for a free domain name for a year.

Is there a minimum time contract/commitment?

Not at all. You can pay monthly or yearly. You can also cancel at any time.

How soon will my account be set up and ready for use?
Account orders are placed in a queue and are processed in the order in which they are received. Your site can be uploaded to our servers immediately after you receive your account info. Please refer to your account info email for instructions. If you did not receive this email, please notify us immediately. (There's a chance the email address you submitted to us during ordering is incorrect!)

How do I park my current web site to your servers after signing up?
If you signed up with ClintHost, you should have received an email with instructions on how to change your name servers. As a quick reference, you will need to sign into your domain registration company's control panel and reassign your name servers to:

ns1.clinthost.com
ns2.clinthost.com

If you need further assistance to reassign your name servers, please provide us your username and password of your domain registration company URL.

Do you offer a money back guarantee?
Yes. If for any reason during the first 30 days as a ClintHost customer, you are not completely satisfied with any of our services, you will get a full refund of your hosting plan. However, domains are not refundable. If you purchase a domain from us, you will be refunded your total payment minus $15 for the domain, and you will retain full ownership and control of your domain name.

Do you have back up service for my site?
Yes, we have daily back up service of your files. However, it is the clients' responsibility to do all back ups of their sites. Note: You can generate files back up or databases back up of your site via cPanel control panel.

    If you have already prepaid with another hosting company, you can use your remaining prepaid time as credit toward hosting with us. Here is what you get:
  • Existing prepaid time used as credit (when equal time is prepaid with us)*

  • Assistance in domain transfer
  • Assistance in moving your web pages to our server

    *If you are currently hosting your web site somewhere else and prepaid them, you can use that prepaid period as credit toward hosting with us (up to one year) when you prepay the same amount of time with us.     Does ClintHost offer telephone support?
    ClintHost does not offer telephone support for one simple reason. “Cost." If we offered phone support we would not be able to offer hosting prices at such low prices. The bottom line is phone support is costly to manage and provide. By not incurring the cost of 24/7 phone support along with stream lining our core business processes we can pass this savings on to our customers.

    I changed my control panel password and now I can't get in. Why?

    Passwords are case sensitive and are limited to 8 characters. If you entered a password longer than 8
    characters please try entering the first 8 characters when logging into your control panel.

    How to set up my e-mail account?

    To set up your e-mail account, use the following configuration to retrieve e-mail from your POP account:

    Incoming mail (POP3) server: mail.yourdomain.com
    Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.yourdomain.com

    *Set SMTP authorization within your email application to have the server authenticate you

    For Outlook Express users, you can download Outlook Express Auto-Config icon while you create your email account over cPanel.

    How do I access my webmail?

    To check your email via webmail, simply go to http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail and enter your login name and password.

    How can I upload my website to my new server at ClintHost?

    Assuming you have successfully set your name servers to ClintHost, you can use cPanel or ftp programs or Internet Explorer to access your web server. Simply type ftp.yourdomain.com and you will be prompted for your user name and password.

    Can I upload files to my hosting server while my domain name is propagated to ClintHost.com?
    If you signed up with a hosting plan, you should have received an email with detailed instructions on how to access your account via temporary IP address. After your domain is fully propagated through the system, you can upload to yourdomain.com via cPanel, FTP or Dreamweaver applications.

    What is the path to perl and to sendmail?

    The path to perl is #!/usr/bin/perl and the path to sendmail is /usr/sbin/sendmail.

    Where should I put CGI scripts for my domain?

    All CGI scripts should be uploaded to the cgi-bin folder for your domain. The absolute path for any cgi or php you setup is "/home/username/public_html." Be sure to follow the instructions for the script you are uploading regarding setting permissions on the files and folders you create, as they vary from script to script.

    I uploaded my files, but I don't see my page, why?

    If our default index.html, "This domain is parked at: ClintHost.com," has not been replaced by another index page, then anyone going to yourdomain.com will still see that page instead of your home page. This is the order in which the web server looks for a page to put up as the "home" page (e.g. index.html, index.shtml). Just delete the index.html file and anything after it in this list will then come up automatically. Notice that "home.html" is not on the list and so will not show up as your home page. You would need to rename it.

    Here are the rates for some commonly added features:
    Disk space : $1.50 - 50MB per month.  Bandwidth : $1 - 300MB per month.  Minimum 5 months purchase is required.
    Dedicated IP: $5 per month. SSL Secure Certificate: $50 per year (non-refundable).

    Accounts will be given a grace period of 30 days, if payment is not received within the grace period your account will be deleted from our servers.

    How do I cancel my hosting account?

    If for any reason you are unsatisified with ClintHost, please let us know and we will be glad to help you. You may use our support form or email us at support@clinthost.net. If in any event you will like to cancel your hosting service, simply email cancellation@clinthost.com. Be sure to include your domain name, user id and password.

    If I purchase my domain from ClintHost.com, how can I transfer my domain away from ClintHost in the future?

    To transfer domain ownership, please contact us.  We will email the necessary information required.  Please note: In some cases, there may be a renewal or transfer domain fee of $15, if you received free domain from ClintHost in the past.  If this fee is charged, it will also include a one year renewal of your domain name.
